An Historical Review from Exclusion to Inclusion in Western Australia across the Past Five Decades: What Have We Learnt?

Current practices regarding inclusive education vary enormously depending on a wide range of issues, specifically the context and culture an system. To maximise validity data, to avoid contextual confusion, this review focuses one state in Australia, that Western Australia. By applying five-decade archival changes for learners with disability are critiqued. Analysis involved five priori themes educational reform practices. These were related legislation policy, support, curriculum, teacher parental choice. Discussion teased out impact these competing paradigms special education, models challenges implementing effective practice all Australian state. Critical reflection provides valuable insight into futures planning systems become more inclusive.
